Mark McKeown

Mark McKeown is COO at Oil Studios, and a Digital Media Consultant at PayMedia Consulting. Mark has extensive experience in both marketing and commercial development across a wide range of digital platforms. His foresight and attention to detail have ensured the commercial strategies, marketing campaigns and business plans he has overseen have resulted in revenue generating formats, interactive and broadcast channels, licensed toolsets, third party partnerships and joint ventures with a wide range of commercial partners.

Mark has a proven track record in the entire Transactional TV value-chain, particularly related to Advanced Products, Format and Channel Distribution, Participation TV and Betting & Gaming. Throughout his career, he has managed large multi-disciplined creative, commercial, customer service and technical teams.

He has both worked for and advised a number of industry-leaders in this sector including BSkyB, NTL, Cablevision, NBC Universal, DirecTV, Motorola, Apple, TIVO, Littlewoods, Ladbrokes, NetEntertainment and Chartwell Technologies.

In 2007, he established his own digital multi-platform production company, Oil Studios, which has developed formats which have been commissioned by the Guardian New Media Group, Channel 4, BBC and Unilever and have won awards from BIMA, Prix Jeunesse, Broadcast Digital, IVCA and been nominated by BAFTA, MediaGuardian and BANFF.  Company website.

 

Ruurd Fenenga

Born in Hilversum, the radio and TV capitol of Holland, Ruurd started his career at a young age, and gained his first work experience as a focus puller and trainee in his  father´s production company. Ruurd M. Fenenga Sr. shot commercials, features and documentaries in his studio in Amsterdam.

Ruurd moved to Los Angeles at the age of 21 where he worked as a focus puller on features and TV series like “Twin Peaks” and assisted on commercials for well known cameramen like Stuart Dryburgh – “The Piano”, “Boardwalk Empire”. Later – he started working as a cinematographer, shooting features and commercials.

Ruurd also works as a lighting instructor – teaching video cameramen who are on staff at some of the largest video companies in The Netherlands like Hulskamp and Team Facilites. To meet the increasing demand from photographers and videographers, Ruurd has begun to offer his Master Lighting Workshop to large video facilities and private groups. Company website.

 

Zarina Holmes  &  Salina Christmas

Zarina Holmes and Salina Christmas are founders of Sojournposse, a global photography collective, and Sojournposse Purpose, which helps companies realise their potential to do good for  society through participatory photography and storytelling. They collaborate with established organisations to communicate their Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Interest values. The method is to combine creative strategy, community conversation and digital multimedia production techniques, informed by digital anthropology study, to devise programmes that enable situated learning and effective outreach projects. Sojournposse Purpose has demonstrated this through successful workshops for example for the British Council in Uzbekistan and the East Meets West exhibition for Nissan Design Europe during London Design Festival. Lluc Pallejà

Lluc Pallejà is a graphic designer and co-founder and CEO of Extens Solucions S.L., specialists in computer repair, network installations, website design and services and e-commerce solutions. He is a graduate in graphic design at Elisava, Escola Superior de disseny, in Barcelona. Founded in 2005, Extens has experience delivering mutli-platform solutions with Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux and Apple Mac OS X environment. The company also has experience on a wide variety of web projects, dynamic web pages, SEO and so on. Extens Solucions provides professional graphic design solutions, such as company logos, print campaigns, website design and development. Extens designed and developed the Broadcast Projects website, which is a customised version of a a premium WordPress theme. Marcus Gilroy-Ware

Marcus Gilroy-Ware is founder and director of VSC Creative. Originally from a fine arts background, Marcus trained as a designer and then studied linguistics and music at Hampshire College in the United States, where he graduated in 2005. Fascinated by subjects in both the humanities and the sciences, Marcus is a keen reader, speaks four languages, and is an adept musician. In addition to running VSC Creative, Marcus currently teaches online journalism to MA International Journalism students at City University, London, is part of the core team of people behind Not on the Wires and is also studying for an LL.M degree at Birkbeck School of Law, University of London. On the web, design, technology and communication are not really separate jobs, but one big challenge. Alex Wood

Alex Wood is founder and creative director of Not on the Wires, the multimedia online magazine and production company. Alex is also a digital consultant with experience in strategy and technical implementation, currently working as a Data Journalist for the BBC World Service as a project manager for the pilot scheme involving nine language services, radio and television, where he is responsible for a series of written features, multimedia infographics and social media. Not On The Wires focuses on global culture, what is changing, and why. It has a network of 25 contributors reporting from Sao Paolo to Tashkent, Cape Town to Buenos Aires and the network is growing.
