PeriScope facilitates the recognition and definition of the characteristics of services. We benchmark and monitor services and are able to deliver  a visual taxonomy, together with supporting data, and also highlight best and worst practices across the industry globally. Periscope is also a tool for the comparison and definition of VOD services and is useful for anyone concerned about the regulatory environment for on-demand services.

We are able to benchmark:

  • the user experience / user interface
  • the electronic programme guide
  • VOD services
  • multi-screen applications, widgets
  • over the top services, IPTV, web, mobile and pay TV services overall

PeriScope offers access to an independently compiled and comprehensive catalogue of data, images and supporting materials about established and emerging TV business models, product development and user interface strategies. We monitor the strategy and content offering of the leading players, paying particular attention to new and emerging business models, including how VOD content is marketed and packaged.

We deliver video walk-throughs and/or commented slide presentations that include supporting visual references of the user interface of each service, based on our large library of both current and historical applications and user interfaces in DV format.

We are able to analyse and benchmark the entire User Experience, or its component parts such as the User Interface, guide, VOD and other functionalities. We then deliver DVDs and powerpoint presentations summarising our learnings together with walk-throughs that interpret the design of an application or platform on a screen-by-screen basis.
