11am - The Future of Television: Network Dimension - Can the Internet handle the entire nation watching the World Cup final at the exact same time? Bringing together key industry service providers and technology providers to tackle the monumental infrastructure challenges of an all IP TV future. This is a multi-organisation, multi-session, multi-day set of sessions as part of the IBC Owners Programme. This event is hosted by SCTE - Society of Broadband Professionals. 2pm - The Future of Television - Television has evolved beyond just Broadcast Linear delivery. It is also evolving beyond OTT On Demand. We are moving towards a world of Internet delivered Television. Markets around the world are at various points in this transition, whether they recognise it or not. The question will be over what timescale will Television move to be fully Internet delivered? Will it be complete? Or will it be a combination of broadcast and streaming as some believe? The SCTE – Society of Broadband Engineers and the Institution of Engineering and Technology are collaborating on addressing the multiple aspects of the Future of TV at IBC 2026 through the IBC Owners Programme.
