Hi there! My name is Janet Greco, and I am the co-founder and principal of Broadcast Projects.

My roots are in the USA, but I’ve been living in Europe since the 90’s and I’m now based in Barcelona.

I started my career in international media policy at the International Institute of Communications in London. My first job in TV was at one of first pan-European TV broadcasters, and I went on to found the first online TV metadata company operating on a pan-European basis.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the smallest and biggest players in the TV industry. I served as the European regulatory representative for Microsoft XBox when the first European Video on Demand laws (the AVMS Directive) were introduced by the European Commission.

I’m a regular participant in the European Broadcasting Union’s (EBU) Metadata Developer Network (MDN) Workshop which focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for the automatic extraction of metadata. I am also an Expert Evaluator for two of the European Commission’s most important investment frameworks: Horizon 2020 and Creative Europe. ☺️ And oh yes, I’m a member of the Panel of Judges for the annual IBC Best Stand Design Awards, and an Executive Member of the Committee at the EIT Media Technical Network.

From my first business I maintain a keen interest in how TV metadata works in practice across the TV technology and regulatory compliance landscape.

As the founder of my own businesses in the TV world, I understand the journey, the pains and the challenges you face when working in this industry. Today, I use my experience as a founder and many years as professional, advisor and consultant to help technology companies and professionals play a bigger game.

When I have time, I indulge in my passion for capturing images of the world around me — and Spain is a beautiful place to do just that.
